Our Week in Review: the (Brrrrr...cold) Edition

While most of you were snuggled down under the covers and toasty warm in your beds this is what half of the Hedger family was doing this morning -

Cutter and Chesley stayed home while we braved the 42 degree weather. Cambry played great and was such a trooper. Her team won both games. The last 20 minutes of the second game could easily be called absolutely miserable!

Cambry has had a great week. On Friday, she was chosen as an excellent Eagle by her teachers and got to participate in a fun game during the Academic Pep Rally. They played baseball and then used scooters to ride to the bases. How cute is that!

The rest of our Saturday sports schedule was canceled due to weather and we headed home to make a huge pot of chili. We are making healthy eating choices here at the Hedger homestead, so for the first time we tried ground turkey in our chili. I also added some hamburger because I had it left over. I have to say the turkey was great. I couldn't even tell it was any different from hamburger. I did have to hold my nose while it was cooking...but that is more my issue and shouldn't be blamed on the turkey.

I have to share a cutie pie picture I took of Campbell. He is such an easy baby to keep and reminds me a lot of Cutter. The main difference being that he doesn't nap for very long. He is the KING of Power Naps. The funny thing is that he wakes up from a 20 minute nap like he has been asleep for hours. He just grins and grins when you go to pick him up.

Now before I go...who knows when I will be back LOL! I have to share with you this super fun Ipod Application for your Ipod Touch or Iphone. My friend, Amy, was the first person to tell me how great it is. It's called Lose It and it does so many cool things. Here are a couple of screen shots that show a little of what this program does. I found the pictures on the internet so they do not reflect my program. Chance found a similar program for his blackberry and we are having a blast comparing our numbers. I am sure the FUN will wear off soon!

Sports Schedules and Sub Jobs

I have updated the sports schedule blog (click on the monkey picture to the right) with all of the game times. I think I will be adding some tournament times in October, but for now everything should be listed. I think I still have question marks by a couple of the softball locations. I will try to get those. I knew it was bound to happen, but we do have a few games that overlap. It will be really strange for Chance and I to have to split up and attend games separately!

I thought just to give you an idea of how busy I have been with subbing this year (and I thought the beginning of the school year would be SLOW) I would post a screen picture of my Aesop schedule. Aesop is the online substitute system that the CISD uses. The squares that are white are days that I have not taken off and have not filled with a job. The yellow days are nonworking days and in this house that translates to "days I have Campbell". I even mark the weekend days - just so I have a visual reminder that he is slated to come that day. The blue days....are all the days I have scheduled to sub! Yes, almost every day in September. It is really crazy. I know it is bound to slow down, but I even have 8 days in October and 1 day in November. Lately, I can only dream of the days that I used to get laundry done and actually made it to Target to hunt for clearance. LOL

P.S. I actually subbed the 31st of August and I sub the 2nd of October - so you could color two more squares blue. It only color codes the month you have pulled up. I sub mostly at the Intermediate school. I am there so much that a lot of kids know me by name and I think a handful actually think I am an employed teacher. Ü
